Daytime Emmy Awards 2018

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the winners of the 45TH ANNUAL DAYTIME CREATIVE ARTS EMMY AWARDS. The gala was held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, Southern California.

This celebration of the best of daytime television will be hosted by Mario Lopez (‘Extra’) and Sheryl Underwood (‘The Talk’) beginning at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET. However, the 45th annual Daytime Emmys won’t be shown on regular television. But don’t worry – we’ve got you covered. The Daytime Emmys will be live streamed on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Periscope. And it will be available for viewing on the academy’s official website. In addition, you can download the KNEKT app and watch the show on your smart TV through Apple TV, Roku, iOS and Android.

General Hospital leads with 26 nominations. This ABC soap has won Best Drama Series a record 13 times. Two of its rivals for that award — ‘Days of Our Lives’ and ‘The Young and the Restless’ — have 25 bids apiece. The fourth daytime drama, ‘The Bold and the Beautiful,’ has 18 nominations.

These awards cover a wide variety of genres including soap operas, talk shows, game shows, children’s shows, animation and digital programming. Those latter three types were honored at the Creative Arts Awards on Friday, April 27. The majority of Daytime Emmys to be handed out on Sunday will be in the daytime drama categories.
